We always bring our out of town guests here because we love it! We have also catered events at our house and it's simply the best food!

El Primo's Mexican Grill is located off Matlock Road in Heritage Plaza, serving classic Mexican meals and margaritas in a beautiful modern setting. We came by to dine in on a weekday afternoon, and we're seated right away from the lovely hostess. Inside is very spacious with plenty of chairs and tables in a dimmed environment with blue LED lights surrounding this fine establishment. There is a bar inside with multiple TVs throughout the restaurant, playing local sports and news. There is also a patio dining area with garage style doors that open during the cooler months in Texas. Our waiter handed us the menus and gave us ample time to browse through the drink and food menus before he came back to take our order. For the drinks, we went ahead and placed an order for the berry margaritas and blue margaritas. We went ahead and ordered the fish tacos and had them grilled. For the kids, we ordered the queso macaroni penny pasta, which came with potato wedges and a small serving on banana pudding. Last but not least, for the main entrees, we went with the prime steak beef fajitas for 2. Chips and salsa were also served to us as a complimentary dish, and the salsa was indeed very herbal and tasty! Our food came out within 15 minutes, looking stunning as ever, and I was ready to dig in. The fish tacos came with 2 tacos in a flour tortilla and Spanish rice with black beans. They tasted fantastic as the fish was well seasoned and grilled. They were garnished with a cabbage slaw and a special sauce. The steak fajitas were looking exquisite and smelt phenomenal! They came perfectly cut into strips with 2 pieces of corn on the cob and a redskin potato. They were garnished with green vibrant chopped cilantro laying beneath a bed of thinly sliced caramelized onions and red and green bell peppers soaking in the beef drippings making it flavorful than ever! Along with the beef fajitas came sides of freshly made guacamole and Pico along with cheddar and mozzarella cheese and sour cream. Beneath the sizzling dish of fajitas were soft and warm flour tortillas waiting for you to stuff and dress them properly so you can eventually devour them. The customer service provided was second to none, and our waiter provided top-notch service to us and was eager to serve us in every way he possibly could. They have happy hour specials on select drinks and food throughout the week, and the margaritas are as good than ever. They definitely didn't skimp out on the tequila, and the drinks came packing with a flavorful punch! I'm looking forward to coming back and trying something different from the menu and maybe catching one of their happy hour specials they have.

We came here as date night to try out a new place since we just moved into the area. We just went for drinks since we read really good reviews on them. We ordered the Elote Mac and cheese with steak, and it was B O M B! I'm really picky with Mac and cheese, and this was definitely delicious and worth a try. I ordered the pineapple margarita, and it was good. I got another round. For dessert, we tried the sopapilla, and husband approved lol, he's picky with his dessert, so this is definitely recommended. Our server was beyond fantastic, she was very attentive and answered any questions we had about the menu. There was also live muaic which was pretty nice and if you want you could request songs for them to sing. It was definitely worth the visit that we Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu!

Food was good. The service was fast and it was good Mexican food. The portions are big a decent lunch spot. Lunch for 2 =40 coconuts

My brother took me here late one night en route to the airport, and it was one of the best meals I had during my visit. Of course I went there my last day there, which is probably a good thing because I would have wanted to return night after night. First, the space is big and comfortable. The service was good. The salsa was AMAZING. I could have just eaten chips and salsa, and I would have been satisfied, but the hits kept coming. My beautiful date ordered the posole, and she loved it. I ordered the tacos al carbon, which were promptly destroyed. A drink or two was had, and memories were made.

Nice food good service good. Ambiance nice decor family friendly and patio. Always packed . Needs more parking. Live band on some nites . Really a great place for hanging out.

Great experience! We went on a Wednesday night and they had karaoke going. Food was all delicious. They had some unique menu items such as the elote mac and cheese with steak which was amazing. I also enjoyed their jalapeño margarita. You get a shaker to refill your margarita glass with and they are strong.

Love some Primos for Tex Mex! Conveniently located with decent parking and casual ambiance. It's a great place to go for some drinks and to watch a game, or to have a nice meal. Food is always on par And drinks are usually pretty strong. Lots of selections!! Service is usually pretty good. They get you in and out in a decent amount of time. Lots of seating. Lots of choices. Overall 4 stars!
